My computer has started taking ages to load. (2mins) Does anyone know how i can speed this up.

When i say "My Computer" i mean the shortcut in my desktop. Not the computer itself. Thanks

The shortcut??? Hmmm... run anti virus and spyware stuff. That might get it faster.

run>msconfig>startup i believe then uncheck all thee unnesessary programs.. and run your antivirus and spyware programs like aznrebel suggested.. ad aware and avg antivirus are two good programs you should probably consider.. also you can run>services.msc and disable unnesessary services.. follow the guide given HERE (http://www.blackviper.com/Articles/articles.htm#Windows_XP_Professional) and maybe look into the supertweaks hope this helped

well you could use tweakui to remove autoplay and such
so the optical drives dont have load the autoplay icon and such
also remove network drives and such

Optimize the hard drive as well, that can make a difference...
