are you sure its zone alarm, and not SP2 firewall < disable the SP2 firewall
have you allowed access to the windows processes, e.g. generic host process for win32 services, and haev allowed access to your web browser
have you got the settings set to:
Tab:____________|__Name:_____________ |___Set to:
________________|_____________________|_________
Firewall_________|___internet security zone |___High
Firewall_________|__Trusted Secutity zone |___Medium
Program Controll__|___Program Controll_____|___Medium
Program Controll__|___Automatic Lock______|___Off
and make sure zonealarm is updated, it all works fine for me, never had a problem with it
and also make sure in firewall>>>zones>>>> that you have your IP address in there. it should look something like that
Name-----|----IP Address/Site--------|-Entry Type----------|-Zone----|
_________|_______________________|________________ ___|__________
Will differ-|----your IP Address--------|-Adapter Subnet------|-Internet-|
----------|----***.***.*.*----------|----------------------|----------|
----------|-----^ something like that |----------------------|----------|
----------|--------------------------|--^ not quite sure-----|----------|
----------|--------------------------|---what that means----|----------|
----------|--------------------------|---it might differ comp--|----------|
-----------------------------------------to comp--------------|---------|

i had some problems with zonealarm after some upgrade maybe i could have resolved it by a uninstall and then reinstall but i read many people using opera had issues with zomealarm so i changed to sygate
The best Firewall is Norton Internet Security 2005, the GUI were nice and great, it configure trusted application automatically. Althrough it was a resource hogger, again, i dont see that a problem with my PC. Why the heck you buy fast PC for? :D
Blueice, are you using IE or other alternatives browser such as Firefox, Opera?

evil, this xp is packless; I will take up your recommendation and look at the settings;
Master Rudegar: If the above does not work then I will take sygate to task.
Grand Lord Protector: I am using slim browser: maybe I should use firefox!?
The machine seened to be running fine this afternoon, but tonight (9:oopm CTS) it took 2 1/2 minutes to bring up the home page of PC Stats. That is slower than Burger King.
