View Full Version : Windows Xp Installation Error (umountable Boot Volume)

I HAVE THE FOLLOWING HARDWARE...
Intel Pentium 4 (3.2GHZ), 1.5GB RAM, 250GIG SATA HD, 80GIG IDE HD, ECS 865G-M (socket 478) motherboard.......

when attempting to install windowsXP on either drive i get error right after WinXP cd loads files and says starting windows xp setup....THEN BAM!!!! AN UGLY BLUE SCREEN THAT SAYS.....

error says...UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

I've been trying to fix this problem for a week now!!!!!!!!!

PLEASE HELP ME IF YOU CAN.....

Have you tried using only 1 drive connected?

try checking your drive jumper settings... master / slave ... i had the same probs when i got my new rig up
that was my prob and was fixed
