I think shes gonna run for prez next election.

I wonder if we'll have like a once a month, short lived police actions in various middle eastern states if she wins. You know till she cheers up again...

*GASP* We mustn't speak of She Whose Name Must Not be Spoken. That woman gives me the heebiejeebies, just because she will probably run and has a good chance of winning unless the GOP can find a good candidate between now and then to run against her. From what I can tell, Condi Rice is the only one right now who would stand a chance against her.

As far as police action in the mid-east. . . I think she would do just the opposite. I'm sure that since the Dems will have been out of power for 8 years that they'll be itching to get away from Bush's policies as far as the War on Terror is concerned (and I'm sure many others on top of that).

She scares me because I disagree strongly with her political viewpoints and she has a very strong and loyal following. But, you win some, you lose some I guess.

Rice '08!

Not really sure why, but that made me laugh pretty hard. Hell, I most likely would too, come to think of it, but that's just one thing you don't expect to read in a thread about politics.

from years of observation, if i am not mistaken, Hillary C has long been the democrat's hidden Ace card. believe it or not, John Kerry was nothing more than a stepping stone for the Democrats to stash HC into the white house. she sure has some major influences in washington and her way of doing things sure qualifies as lack of a better word unique. it should be interesting to see the next election. can't wait :)

I totally agree Howard, Kerry was never a seriousally backed candidate, the fact that he came so close is a surprize. As much as I am scared of it, if Hillary runs I think she'll win by a landslide. Unless the GOP finds something of equal media worthiness... enter Rice.

I just wish we could get slick willie back in office. To hell with the two terms law. That's the most ridiculous crap that I've ever heard of.

Rice already announced that she is not going to run. It would be an extreme change to have a woman in office, not to mention a black woman. I don't think Rice would even get close because the Republican base is very southern, and I really don't think they are about to put a black woman in power.

2008 will be the year of the Yankees.... Clinton vs Giuliani. That will be a very tough fight...Primarily becuase Giuliani is officaially a Republican, but he really is right in the middle. Those are the candidates that can get support from everywhere.

Poor Bush supporters....They can either vote for the Queen of all Democrats, or vote for the guy who is really just another Democrat, but calls himself Republican :)

You'd be surprised how much the South has changed since the 1960's ;)

What makes it more interesting is that Carter and Clinton are the only 2 Dems to make a strong showing in the South since 1964, which can either be good or bad for Billary considering her heritage and her standpoints (Gore not only didn't carry a single Southern state, he didn't even carry his home state of Tennessee). Frankly, I'm not sure how the South will respond to another Clinton, but judging from the people I've spoken with, no one down here is eager to see her in office.

Yep, sucks to be us in '08. We'll just have to enjoy the Bush regime while we're still in power.

I'm still holding out in desperation for Rice. :(

If giuliani runs, he'll have my full 100% support. That man is a leader and a half, he's an organisational genious and his views are on par with most of middle class america. Besides those points, he turned new york around from being a slum into the best city in america (as far as i'm concerned anyways, i wish we could get a mayor like him) and his policys reflect the progress made in that city. The man has a full understanding of america, americans, and the world.

Hilary only has her persona to run on, she really hasen't made a difference She's an attractive middle aged woman and thats what has ran her so far..but Giuliani has statistics, is popular with the average folk, and is known as a reformist. He's even headed, and is intellegent. He Already has experience with the federal government.

I woulden't support rice, I just don't like her that much. How can anyone forget when she was under pressure from that democratic senator, she could only answer "I would rather you not question my integrity." Rice is on par with bush and kerry level, i think giuliani and hilary are above that. I would have really liked to have seen Colin powell run, but i can understand his reasons for not wanting to run. Also his reasons for leaving the whitehouse.

being an NYC native i have to disagree with part of this. yes giulianin did chang the city for the better but his tactics left alot to be disired in some respects. here are two major reasons why in my personal opinion:
1. he allowed the profiling of minorities in the city causing allot of unbased arrests (a kid seen with a backpack in the projects riding his bike with no obvious distination could be pulled over for possible transport of ************************s).

2. when the west african immigrant that was shot by those cops (they went to the wrong apartment) he urged the city to support the police officers involved. mind you they unloaded thier complete clips (glocks carry 17-21 rounds depending on model) when no sign of weapons was apparant.

yes he cleaned up the city but at the expense of alot of people who where ruined for life. (some unbased arrests led to people being locked up for long periods of time and in some cases facing the ravages of the prison system such as rape until they were proven innocent in the end.)

in these days of shady politics you have to distrust everyone in the government when they make statements of change for the better. democrat, republican, or those in between claming to be of either party.

as for hilary i never liked that she was able to fanagal(sp?) an elections when she had been a resident for something like a year. i have always believed that only persons who had really lived in the state should be able to run. it's like me going to mississippi and living there for 2 years and saying i understand the people and all there problems. just doesn't work that way. to much underlying for a new resident to truly understand.
