Laptop Mobo issue

This is my first Post so bear with me. I just replaced the board in my laptop and when I try to power it up. It sounds as though it's going to start, the leds blink, my cd player makes its normal sound and then nothing. It just stops and the power light stays on. Nothing on the LCD (black screen). I did attempt to change the mini pc network card but changed back to the original. Does it sound like I need to reset my bios?? And if so how how I do it. The manual that came with the laptop is a joke.
