I was playing around with my system last night and after playing around with some more overclocking just decided to turn everything down to Auto concerning volt and mult. Checking PSU and Asus Probe I noticed running with 2:1(400), 1000 HTT, and 10x multi with auto vcore, the vcore is running 1.7v!!! I am thinking about trying some different bios images to see if this can be corrected but I am worried I'll get a bios between 1009-1011.07 that only allows the memory to run in single(I have confirmed with many owners of the A8V Dlx this is a problem) so I think I just want to get rid of this board and videocard and move to DFI and PCI-E. Any other owners of the A8V dlx out there and if so has it pissed you off yet?

if you know what settings you system needs then imho it's allways a better thing to set it jumperwise because if you know what you are doing then auto should auto set it the same and if auto dont work very well then it's messed up

so if you know what you are doing then auto can only disappoint you :P

I just have to complain about this board because this is the 2nd Asus board I have had this year already and I have had alot of problems with them. The P4C800 Dlx had alot of voltage problems(the vcore would drop) and this one doesn't like auto settings, the via raid rom hasn't been updated, and can't run past 270FSB(w/ watercooling). It's funny to because when I am ocing I can only run the vcore up to 1.675 due to 1.7 would cause the system not to boot but then when I run it on auto the mobo has no problems booting with 1.7v.

The quality of the motherboard is good but it's just updates from Asus are lacking. I have checked with MSI, Gigabyte, Abit, and pretty much every manufacturer that used the K8T800 Pro chipset and all have been updated to the newest Via SATA rom bios, except Asus. I can't want til R520 comes out because I will be getting it and a new board with hopefully ATI's AMR.

No problems with the A8V as of yet. I would try to OC a little, but I'm worried about my RAM. I may up it a little to see how the mobo reacts.

I noticed that you talked of a bios between 1009-1011.07 then it only being able to run on single channel. I'm sorry I can't help with your problem but you might be able to help me, if mine boots with single channel enabled how can I change this to dual channel?

Do you have 2 sticks of memory? If so I would try and move to the 1009 or 1011 bios because from what I had and understand there were alot of problems getting Dual channel to actually work. Today I am putting my K8N Neo2 board in since I have the day off.
