Just bought another mobo

I have given up on my old one and purchased an MSI mobo model MS-6788 which states it supports a P4 Northwood processor 478 socket, could anyone tell me would any P4 processor with a 478 socket the right Bus speed, Frequency and Cache speed work on this mobo?

If the board says it supports Northwood than we can only assume that it does indeed support Northwood. So any Northwood core P4 will work in that board.

yup, id' have to agree, it might even support the pressies if you update the bios...update the bios before doing anything too. sometimes they fix power management issues, and those things are set during the initial windows setup. so its always good to do that before installing windows

True story...and if it's an intel chipset, they're often backwards compatible with willamette cores...iunno about other chipsets...
