View Full Version : nForce 7.11
I found these over @ warp2search.net: ftp://download.nvidia.com/Windows/nForce/7.11/. I have installed them but there was a couple things I have noticed. 1. When installing it of course I receive the driver digital error but it says the chipset is nforce 3 250. I thought I had the nforce 3 Ultra since it is a skt 939 board. 2. For some strange reason the bottom 2 USB ports on my board are not able to detect anything( I just noticed this morning before I came into work). Does anyone with a MSI K8N Neo2 know if these are part of the VIA 1394 controller?

i have no idea man about the usb thing, but i thought the nforce 3 250gb and ultra were the same, just named different for different sockets. the only difference is the processor support really, not so much memory because well, the cpu has the memory controller, so how different would the chipset really need to be right? when you think about it
nForce 3 250GB and Ultra are basically the same, just the HTT width a bit different, with Ultra leading at 1000Mhz and 250GB at 800Mhz.
Basically, the nForce3 Ultra is the new "revision" of nForce 3 250GB....
And the "GB" thing refer to Gigabit ethernet, which is build in native into the nForce 3 :D
And the VIA 1394 controls the 3 Firewire port, it doesnt have anything to do with the USB ports.............. USB port are all hardwired into the nForce 3 250 Ultra MCP hub!
Anyway, any improvement using the new drivers? There is no friggin new drivers for nForce 3!
Oh come on nVidia, you dont expect the nForce 3 to be perfect, dont you :D
Well from what I have done so far since I just redid my system I have only seen the USB problem and when I was trying to burn a CD for a friend last night Nero locked up. Not sure if these are driver problems but I'll update you tonight when I get off of work.
Avoid these! It was the driver creating the problem with the USB. Redid my system, 3rd time in the last week, and both USB works fine now.
damn and i thought i had some new drivers to use. well thanks for being the guinea pig and letting us know the scoop.
