Hi all,
I have read the instructions on unattended installations and it works a treat. I was basically wondering two things. Can you make the Windows XP installation work from a DVD and from there, how would you add the unattended installation of Office 2003?
Hope you can help!

first answer to can you run it from a dvd, yes, you can, i have an "all windows" dvd, with windows nt/2000, 2000 server, xp home/pro/corporate, 2003 server. so yes, itll run from a dvd.
2, one way i can think of, would be to make and iso of your windows cd, add in the office installation files into the iso. add a run once in teh unatend.sif file to run the office install in silent mode. and then just burn it to a dvd.
you can run the office installer by running msiexec.exe (windows installer) /passive or /quiet for unattended of silent install and point it to the office msi file. you can get more info on the windows installer commands by just going to start -> run -> msiexec.exe . that'll bring up an info box with a pile of info

Thanks a lot for that.
DVD works fine. For the msi packages though you have to include the actual path of the CD/DVD drive.
I have still got a problem with installing the drivers. There is a section for the PNP drivers but if they're not plug and play they don't seem to work???
Any with any ideas.
Thanks

you should be able to put %SourcePath%\office.msi for example and that will run it from the folder you installed windows from on the dvd
this will be usefull too, you will probly need it
