Is it just me or are the news nowadays being blown out of proportion? Like the runaway bride and now this aruba crap. I do feel sorry for the girl and all, but god its like every 30 min theres something new, or we've come a bit closer or whatever. There's plenty of people that go missing every day, but it seems if the girl is white and young or innocent not to mention attractive everything goes nuts.

Yeah...I'm sick of hearing about it too. They do get caught up on some pretty stupid crap. One little rich white girl gets gang raped and tossed in the ocean, and we all have to hear about it for weeks.

What's really funny is the link to the Aruba story in the second paragraph... LOL.

that's why i watch "The Daily News with Jon Stewart". i like my news with a little, as the french say, i don't know what. example, Jon had called some "real" news guy a prick. well the guy asked him on the show and asked him if he had no problem calling some one that on his show and his reply was " no and i wouldn't mind going on his show and calling him a prick" or close enough. i almost went blind from tears of laughter. you get news but with all the jokes about the bull stories these network news agencies make sound sooooo important.

Yeah, I've always hated how free the press is. They stick their noses in everything and blow it out of proportion just to get an audience. The biggest thing I hate about it is like they're at a fire scene or something, and it's somebody's house, and a reporter comes up and puts a camera in the homeowner's face and says the two questions that shouldn't have to be asked: "What happened?" and "How do you feel?" I'd be like the movie Paparazzi towards the press. I have a psychotic hatred towards press/reporters. I despise them.

the reason i liked paparazzi was cause he was cool as long as they were harrasing him cause he accepted it as a package of fame. when they started messing with his family though he had every right to go balistic. especially the way they wend about it when they caused the car crash. splendid movie.

the sad thing is that real journalism, investigative journalism, is getting overshadowed by this junk. it's a pity to say that this country is addicted to the quick fix. there are so many important things going on in the world but if it's not about us then it gets boring or useless to some here.

we need to get back to weeding out the stupid. not mentaly challeged cause they can't help that but the one's that choose to be dumb, slow, ignorant to the real issues in life. gentlemen the gene pool is getting a little overcrowded.

Well i'm bored and feel the urgent need to b1tch so here it goes.

You Americans need to get your sh1t straight. Seriously i'm not kidding this time. I'm sick and tired of seeing this sh1t about some rich white girl who dissapeared being all over the news. Every day people are injured or die in iraq, and a lot of them are US soldiers. I don't see them on the news, I don't hear anyone give a sh1t about them. I guess thats because americans are bored of iraq and need something new. I'm not sure, but the second some 18 year old white girl can take the spotlight for almost a month now from a f*cking war tells me something is wrong.

People need to mature and grow up, theres more important things going on then Aruba this and Natalee Holloway that. God if this girl ever shows up alive and everything ends up being a misunderstanding I will fly down to alabamma and beat her sensless (yes i know it sounds insensitive but if in any way this is her fault...) and the media needs a damn b1tchslap as well.

*oh yea, no hard feelings but i had to get this out.

I think it's kind of a big deal that a teenage girl goes missing while on a senior trip in high school... If they found her body the next day it would all be out of the news now, but well... they havn't even found her body. I'll agree that it's blown out of proportion to some extent, but I think it's still newsworth. There are more important things all over the world, but this event will come and go, the more important issues aren't going anywhere. That's how the news people see it at least, I'm not saying I agree... But geeze Nova, what's with this "You Americans..." talk? haha :p

well the "You Americans" was a bit harsh, but damn it's aimed at the american people. sure these things come and go but god i just don't care. i've went trough 4 news channels and every time its ARUBA and how their making no progress. the fact that they haven't found her body leads me to believe three things.

1) she's dead and they hid her well
2) she's been kidnapped and now off the island and the kidnappers don't know what to do with her
3) its one of those runaway bride scenarios where shes fine and everything, but she just decided to run away.

anyway, if she shows up alive and it was her fault. god i know it's going to be a nice reunion and people will be glad shes back, but someone needs to beat some sense into her.

the problem i have is that people are losing a perspective on things and are putting to much care into something that well happens every day. i can't change it and i accept that, but its things like these that make wonder sometimes.
