The computer doesn´t shut down

I´m using the Windows XP.Some times,when I finish to work,the computer doesn´t shut down automatically.What can it be?How can I fix it?

Check if ur Mobo is correctly connected to the buttons on the case... Or you can use the good old power/off button

Which version of XP are you using? SP1 or SP2?

Hmm, do disk cleanup, purge the temporary folders and files, clear up the prefetcher, and defrag your drive...........
