Free DVD burning software

So, i have a new LITE-ON burner...but, the software package that comes with it is only nero express.. which means i can only burn DVDs to play on my tv's dvd player. My SOLE REASON for buying the burner was for data backup, not for trying to make home movies. anyone know of a free-lisence dvd burning software that i can use? i've tried a few, and all i really end up with are wasted dvds.....

uh, you can burn a data dvd with nero express...i have and use nero express as my burning software and you are able to use it to burn data onto dvds. the option is in the nero start smart interface.

true, i find nero easy to use and the interface is way better than the competition........

sorry, it was NervoVision Express 2....i dont see a start smart interface anywhere.

try this.

c:\program files\ahead\nero startsmart\nerostartsmart

thats where its located on my comp. if you cant find it by those directions, just do a search for nerostartsmart
