I have never thought about cleaning out my registry or tried one until recently.

And I know there are always good free alternatives to paying for stuff so i'm open to sugestions.

And I want to know if cleaning your registry important/as important to doing virus/spyware scans.

I know I know... I've only been using PCs for a year now so cut me some slack.

downloaded this and left the default options to run the first cleaning. thing found 1,689.8mb of stuff to clean up. that's a hell of alot of space being hogged. gonna see what issues gets me. gonna do a backup of course to be safe first. don't want to screw my registry and have to reinstall.

The stupid part of ccleaner is that it resets some stuff to default. Like i had to resave my passwords and crap on firefox.

you could always uncheck those options under firefox in the applications thing.
