Hey guys. How do you remove service pack 2???? I cant find it in "Add/Remove programs"....

it should be in Add/Remove Programs...i see it there

i donno hit "show updates at the top" ?

its called Windows XP Service Pack 2....im looking at it in my add or remove programs prompt right now. no, its not a sub item under windows xp-software updates either. hope that helps.

Lol. Still cnat find it. I know its Sp2 cuz i see it under system properties.

haha. for my 800th post, i shall post a picture. should be self explanitory. if you cant find this, well then i suggest a sledgehammer to remove sp2 :) :) :D

i don't know whats dummer, microsoft putting the add remove for SP2 there, or me never seeing it. anyway tnx for the thread guys, you have rid me of this menace.

apparently... his CD isn't sp1 lol... Its sp1 and sp2 combined together apparently...

didnt microsoft merge sp2 into xp, so that it is effectivly part of xp.not a seperate item.

Term Definition

Integrated


An installation in which the operating system and the service pack are installed together as a single installation.

Standalone


A service pack that is not integrated with other software and can be used to update the operating system it is designed for.

A service pack that you installed as part of an integrated installation with Windows XP cannot be removed.


If you are upgrading from Windows versions other than Windows XP, and you want to install SP2 integrated with Windows XP, check with the manufacturer of your computer about upgrading your BIOS before you proceed.

If you remove SP2, it becomes SP1. and thats what i need. SP1.....

Well. I tried another way to fix this prob. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/875350 went there and i did those things. Lets just hope it doesnt restart on me again......

Ya. Its a major nightmare. Fricken sucks major arse. Well. The problem i encounter is that it sometimes wont let me boot into windows. Right after i type in teh password, or when im typing hte password, it will either freeze or restart. This is only with one gig of memory. With 512 mb of memory, it works perfectly fine.....
