View Full Version : What wrong? My computer plays a short audio clip when 1st going on PCstat pages?
When I open a specific web page on a certian topic I've been posting to on PCStats I hear a short audio clip of Joan Rivers, what happened?
It don't do it with all PCStats web pages.
Is this something that the person who posted set up an audio clip when viewing?

Sounds like User Error ^_^

Yeah, Those posts that I use to write to are no longer, so I don't have that problem any more.
I must have done something to prompt my audio to start playing, not sure what was going on there. Any way I'm glad things are fine now.
thanks, Joe
Now, the story changes again, has anybody been finding that when you visit certian web sites that your audio starts playing off to some short clip of music to what on that site?
My settings must have gotton changed some how, I don't remember changing then. There has to be a setting that lets in audio automatically at web sites, are there???
another one of those supernatural events occuring in PC?
This is the weirdest thing i've heard from a PC user........ scary? nope!
Weird? yeah :D
Try using firefox and look if there's still weird noises coming out from the PC ;)
Oh yeah, I've been cursed by an evil unknown friend, or something like that, its always "me" that this has to happen to, with the weird stuff, things like, bad luck, won't work, not right, I've been a too bad for you kind of person all my life.
Who else do you know that can click on a web site and then hear music start playing for 4 seconds then stop?
So I won't even begin to tell you the story about how the new router I just bought works okay all day long, I turn the PC "on" and "off" all day long. Then when I go to bed I turn it off again for the seventh time that day, but for good because its at night so I can go to bed. Then to wake up to turn on the PC again, nothing!!! it will not to go on line, no way no how will it catch a break to get myself going with out having to go thru the whole thing again on setting up the router like I just took it out of the box.
maybe its a default sound for windows............ try going to control panel and select the sound scheme to "no sounds".......

from what it sounds like...maybe the page has an imbeded sound file or video clip that automatically starts when you visit the page...I may be mistaken but could this be the problem?

nope otherwise the rest of us would hear a sound when we open a web page
Here is just a guess, what do you think about this, I think what may have happen was that one of the cookies that loaded on was a working file that did this short 3 second audio clip. Simular to, or was this is what shinigami was talking about?
So far I have not hear this in a while, but its not like I always hear it too.
I'll delete the cookies on a regular bases, so I'll have to see if I hear this now.
Just a thought since I don't know anything about this.
Zefram........
I did what you said and seen that there was a grey blank spot, so I saved that and picked the Windows Default. Lets see what happens.
