Ok, so after my little overclocking venture ONCE AGAIN... My computer crapped out, and now some of my programs won't run at all... As in, I click, and then nothing pops up.

Is there a way to fix this?

try a system restore to a point before the oc

It's possible that the voltages fked up a little, or that you were drawing too much power to CPU RAM etc through your mobo and the southbridge was left with insufficient power/a voltage spike, which corrupted some of the data travelling to your HDD. Or you could just have somewhat ruined a bit of hardware, assuming you're back at default settings now. So my advice would be to make doubly sure all your hardware's running OK (memtest86 sorta thing), and then run the system file checker and stuff, or just reformat.

If I remember correctly, something similar happened to me on a particuarly brutal overclocking session a while ago, but it wasn't quite that catastrophic.

I have corrupted the data on my hard drive as a result of some overzealous OCing a few times. I've tried using the recovery consol to replace the damaged files, but once you get X file replaced, reboot than oh look, Y needs replaced. It often carries on like that long enough to make it easier just to format and reload.

I've managed to refine the format/reload process down to a bit of a science on my machine. Usually no more than 1.5h or so to get everything back up and running with all of my software (excluding games).

I dont know how you all managed to ruined your OS by overclocking............ maybe you all overclock in a 500Mhz increments? :D

I fixed one, uninstall... Reinstall 1 day later :)
