Boot issues??

Heya Guys, I have a problem with my PC. When i restart my PC it boots fine and goes to the Windows screeen with the loading bar at the bottom. However, after this screen my monitor goes black for approx 3mins and then carries on loading as usual. This error started about the same time i installed a certain fake game so i removed that game with no effect. I believe this is probably a system reg problem but dont know for sure. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

hmmmmm :rolleyes: i've had the problem where the bar doesnt show up but taskmanager etc will open with keybaord shortcuts. i had to set standy to never in order for to it to stop happening. Do not know what relationship they have but try it. Also set turn off monitor to never if you havent already done so in the power options.

Thanks for the advice but the answer was far more simple and embarrising. I just fixed it. It turns out my little sister had watched a DVD and it was trying to boot off that which is why it was having a delay. I didnt even know it was in the drive!!! How stupid of me not to check.
