I was just wonder would you get more performance out of a blow hole fan that was ontop of the case rather than one inside the case? if so how much more performance and is it worth having an ugly fan on top of your case? heh :p

well its pretty common knowledge that hot air rises so if the top of your case is warm then yea it would be a good thing to have....

i have thought about cutting a 120mm hold in the top of my case a few times but havent done so due to the fact that the top of my case is ice cold.

but if your Power Supply came with 2 fans or a 120MM large ones, i think it is sufficient enough to exhaust all the heat away. Althrough hot air rises up, normally the PSU fans will suck the hot air out........

It is useful, but if you have a Powersupply that came with two fans or one big 120MM fans, then it should be sufficient to exhaust all the heat out from your casing.
Try touching ontop of your casing where you planned to cut the blowhole after 1 hour of gaming or benchmarking. You'll notice its not that hot. If it is, then the heat accumulating there and you should then, make a blowhole :D
Anyway, exhaust fan is good, it suck the air out from your casing, and cool air is drawn into your casing. But remember, more fans will create more noise......

I put a blowhole in the top of my case, even though my psu has 2 fans, and it helped a great deal. Like zefram said, touch the top of your case after some gaming and see how it feels. Even better, open up your case and see how warm the air is at the top of your case.
