in flash you can make a loading bar load based on the amount of the file it has downloaded.

Do you know flash?

not very well im afraid. take a look at the link

http://www.3dvirtualtours.co.uk/Number17BristolStreetDialUp2.htm

the loading bar there is just according to the time you enter

this one is how i want it to work but this only seems to work with a still image. i need it to be with the video from the first link

any ideas?

render it out as a quicktime movie... it will be better compression (sorenson 3 is a good one) and it will have an accurite loading bar built right in. I'm a Digital media student... this is what I do all day.

for examples... check out my quicktime movies... www.digitalstormstudio.com

can it still be embeded in the page?

yes... make a cell (if your using tables) and put the link to the file in there... it will load in the same window. I just chose to make it open in it's own window.
