avi to vob

hey guys i need a avi to vob converter. i need this because im trying to burn a video(a backup copy of a movie that i do own) and the video file is too big for a single layer dvd. i need to get it to .vob so i can use dvd shrink to get it smaller. thanks for the help.

VOS has a free version that i use to do this and it works quite nicely. here's the site : http://www.vso-software.fr/products_english.htm . the version they have there is v2 but i found somewhere the original for free. i'll keep looking to see where i got it. yes it was legal where i got it from.

here it is: VSO Divx(among other formats) to DVD (http://www.download.com/3001-7970_4-10376028.html) i'm sure the new version is much faster and has more features but you'll have to pay for that. it's like $30

just convert your avi's into mpeg2 format use somethinglike main concept mpeg encoder, then use a DVD authoring tool like TMPG.

why when he can get the VSO for free and it does the conversion direct with no other programs involved. it's a pretty speedy little app also. avi's that i've had issues converting won't convert with cucusoft or other apps i've tried either so i stick with this one.

does it only convert divx? or other types of codecs as well?
