I´ve just bought a Samsung 80 GB Sata II and now the salesman told me that I need a cooler for the HD,because of the temperatures. He says the Sata disk goes to high temperatures and it needs a cooler!IS it right?the cooledr will cost me more 15 Euros!

If you have a fan blowing over it, or at least some good air circulation going around it you should be fine. The cooler it runs, the longer it will last.

its not because of the SATA, rather the heat is associated more to the rotational speed of the hardware...............
SATA and PATA hdd have the same temps :D

Samsung HDD is quiter and cooler than other HDD, its safe to use without active cooling, but make sure you got good airflow in your system!!

The sales man is just doing his job trying to sell you crap you do not need. That HD is fine w/o a cooler.

i hate sales men. "this computer is great it comes with a radeon x300 that will give you stuning graphics. it features the new technology pci express x16 so its 2x faster then agp x8. It also has a 64 bit processer so its 2x faster then 32 bit procesors." Die!!!!
