For several weeks, some apps appear on the screen when called, but then, after several seconds, close spontaneously.
Not only do they vanish from the screen, but they also disappear from the Task Bar and Task Manager. This problem appears to be quite selective; whereas Mozilla Firefox runs normally, IE6 vanishes before it has finished its Home page. MSCONFIG runs normally, but services.svc is gone before it can fully load. Unfortunately my stock broker's platform is one that disappears, so I have a serious need to get this problem solved asap.
I boot WinXP Pro and SP2 with Zone Alarm and AVG. I have scanned the system with 2 antivirus prgrams and 3 ad or spy detectors with nothing found, so it must be somewhere in my system. I have tried to run sfc /scannow but it aborts because it cannot find my SP2 which I loaded online and not from a CDROM.
I have never heard of anything like this before so any ideas will be greatly appreciated.
