didn't know there was a lacking in IT professionals. hell if it continues this way for a while i'll just do that after i get out of the navy. taking some minor mandatory classes to get em out of the way and then taking comp related courses to that interest me. going to decide what direction from there.

thats great that theres a lack in IT professionals...it will be easier for me to get a job :D
maybe there isn't a lack of IT professionals, instead M$ just wants more so it can just fire the current ones and employ new ones at a lower rate?

Actually there seems to be a demand. The college I go to decided to build a new huge building just for information science and technology majors back in '97. The only reason they did was because the government as well as companys out there told them there was a need for it. Now Penn State has one of the best information science and technology programs in the country I believe.
I've talked to people that have been through the program and jobs seem to be really easy to come by. Companies seem to love this program. A defense contracter just gave us $20,000 the other day to start a systems integrations club, and they're flying in the their president just to talk to the club. Then they're even flying us out to them for free. This major is even one of the easier majors on campus, you don't need a high level in any area, except language. Enough of my ranting, I'm just damn glad to be in this major and at Penn State!
