Hey guys, so i just inherited a computer form the toursist booth in my town, and it has windows 2000 on it. I got it for cheap, but what they didnt tell me is that there is an admin password, and i cant find it, i cant get around it, i cant do nothing........Does anyone know of some way to get rid of the password....cuz it was stupid but cheap....but i dont want it to be a complete waste of time.....

more importantly, it wont let me install any programs, is there anyway (any registry fix) that anyone knows of to just let me install some programs.....i don car ebaout the pword i just want to install some programs.

Or you can give them £10 for instant. If you have a live linux distro you can run it, mount your win2k drive and edit the sam files. Just because it can be done I wouldn't do it unless I needed access right now. Monkey the sam file and bad things will happen if the system uses EFS or other security.

Add-in:

Another you could use for instant gratifacation is John the Ripper.. Never tried it on 2k but it works on BSD... Now if only it would work on Debian 4.0 :mad:
