Chalk one up for the capitalists.
America can afford $3 a gallon gasoline. This is one of the lowest prices in the world, so the world's richest country can definitely handle it. But since we do use the most gasoline, its only fair we pay for it too, so if Alaska has to be drilled then so be it.
most people in america could affort 3$ a gallon, but big trucks would go out of style overnight, and there are people who would have lots of trouble with that (the 3$ a gallon). i have no idea what the US should do, but whatever it is, we'll be b1tching about it at this time next year.

Big deal they can drill...How long will it take to do the following:
Survey
Catcut
3D or 2D Seismic
Data correlation from 3D/2D
Set up the work sites / Living quarters
Set up the drill rigs
Set up the means of transport
It will not happen in a months time..probably closer to a couple years...
BTW..I used to work for a seismic company in Canada that was hired by many Oil/Gas companies, including Petro-Can...

aslong as people dont trust each other there wil never be peace
aslong as people dont trust each other there wil never be peace
its not just about trust. its also about money, how you live. as long as there's greed in this world people will never live in peace, but then again as long as there's greed our society will have a modivation to progress.

what about money
your trading with other countrys, so....
the price of ure fuel is prolly so high cos it has to be shipped over somehow
nono i just meant money in general. we will never have peace until everyone can make enough $ to buy a house, cars, and lead a happy life. unfortunately that can't happen for obvious reasons.

This is when someone steps in and says something like:
"This is why religion made up the 10 Commandments, to control the people who don't have what others have.
The force a peace on us"

The 10 commandments is just somthing that you are ment to believe in
TBH IMO you should do what the 10 commandments say even if your not chrisian, its a moral and ethical thing to do
Im not going to go to church and do somthing that i stronly disagree with to follow some rules i believe in anyway

Thats what I'm talking about. Moral and ethical according to who?
According to what society wants you to believe.

according to what you know is right
Like stealing, people have to work for a living, and stealing is taking away from then selfishly
However i would still allow pirating as the industry is so evil, and so manipulative they deserve it
then again i would rent and copy not just download, and i only download games to check em out
If i liked them i would buy them (plus you get online play which is good)
the way i base my morals is the way i want to be treated. for example i don't want anyone killing anyone i know, and i don't want people taking my stuff, so i don't do those things. it has nothing to do with religion or society.
