MaxPC has an article on the BTX formfactor. Since intel is moving to low wattage microarchitecture, the procs will theoretically run cooler...making BTX a waste. The president of VooDooPC thinks "BTX was a waste of time and energy". It was reported that neither Dell nor Intel commented about it.

Could be bad news for the few BTX users out there that thought they were getting a jump start...

Actually, i wouldnt mind the transition to BTX, and since it helps cool-running processor to run EVEN cool, why not? :D

Its just about thwarding the thermal energy away......... sooner or later we will need the transition to BTX, as with ATX from AT :p

I don't mind the transition to BTX. Nobody needed BTX except for Intel, so trying to force it on the industry was a waste. I do think it is a good idea though and now the industry and transition as needed.

I like the BTX idea, but coming from only Intel it was a waste. Why buy a motherboard you can't put it in a case?

I always thought that the current system was backwards for current rigs; heat rises, so why put the CPU at the top with all the heat, and why put the GPU upside down to cook itself?

i like btx to and they should defenitly repclace ATX keeping all things exept gpu cpu cool WITH ONE FAN :D at least i read that in a trustable review somewhere. meaning you can use all your big cooling on these things :D
omnious not everyone is as clever as you remember that
