Help with windows update??

WHen I try to use windows update and it's checking for my system config and earlier updates. I get this:

"[Error number: 0x8009200D]
The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view. The options provided below might help you solve the problem.
"

I've got a valid copy of windows xp64, never been on the internet before with this pc.

You'll have to use the 32-bit version of Internet explorer to access Windows update, but I am pretty sure MS has a less cryptic error message when this is the case. You might want to try re-installing Internet Explorer from the Windows setup CD, maybe part of the program or some of your activeX controls are corrupted.

Could just be a problem with the Windows Update site. But wait, Microsoft having a problem? Nah... that is impossible! :p
