View Full Version : Defrag won't work...
I have been using Diskeeper Lite for sometime but recently it stopped working. I have uninstalled it, & now the Windows defragmenter won't work.
Any thoughts please...?

same thing happened to me some time ago. ended up reformating and clean install of xp. sometimes I dont have the patience to trouble shoot every thing. been using default defrager ever since.

Did you have enough free space to defrag?

FrozenMercury is right you must have at least 15% spare capacity on the HD to defrag.

Well that's just Windows ME. I hated Windows ME with a passion. I remember opening cmd.exe and it corrupted my display drivers. I didn't like that too much lol. But yeah, 15% is needed to fully defrag your HDD properly.

ME was the worst version of windows ever

Thank goodness that Microsoft is no longer supporting 98 or ME. After June '06, you will no longer be able to get updates. Hmmmmm, won't be long before Microsoft cans XP also ... :D (hahaaaa)

You know what I meant ... XP will be around, but then with Vista coming, and everyone jumping on the 64-bit bandwagon...it really won't be all that long before Microsoft says " kaput" to WinXP 32-bit OS ... it's inevitable ... :p

People are using the beta version testing and all that crap ... I kinda want to wait and see what really happens when they launch the final product ...

Well, that's what I just posted...the article about cutting the beta version ... it's what I thought would happen. Microsoft wants to get Vista out a whole lot earlier.
