lol...yep...i used the keyboard that came with my sony viao, altho i got a lovely logitech G15 keyboard sittin under the christmas tree right now, along with a beatiful lian-li PC-V1200 case and a Enermax Liberty 500w powersupply!

My then 2.1 setup has expanded to 5.1 now. I love this sound blaster live 24 bit. I have all the bass below 180hz re-directed to the home theater sub so it helps to lower distortion. I also have a 20" TV in the middle of my room hooked up to the computer. The blue cable coming out the front of my external sound card is the optical cable headed to my 5.1 surround reciever.

Why do u need all them ?

One of them is my mouse rest (also was my linux/server/toybox at the time). The other is the first computer I got myself (466mhz celeron emachine). It is a self for my frogs cage to sit on. haha, I don't have much room left in here. I've got two more working computers on a large shelf behind me (200 mhz underclocked to 180 for the 48megs of sims and a 66mhz 486 dx2 gateway 2000). In storage I have a tandy 1000 and 2500sx or something like that.

Wrong! Their service blows, or atleast that's my experience. And their computers do suck, and yes, overpriced for what you get. I wish my dad went for a local computer shop, but oh well. I'll buy myself my own comp one of these days. AMD ofcourse! Look at my benchmark scores lol, you'll see why Pentium+Dell is the worst combo.

Just a Dell 17" Trinitron, dont want it, want like a 17" LCD but no money, someone can give me one if you want. Altec lansing speakers, sub woofer, nothing special. Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse.

In the summer when the grandparents are gone, I will have a 50" DLP hdtv to play on, not as good as his 61", a step below but nice for what I need. my xbox on the left, pictures bad, if you know anything about xbox, I have modded that alot. The red circle is normally green, the front ports glow blue UV. Top jewl is cut out and glows blue, fan replaced with blue LED.

yeah not much point to it changing the color but i like red alot and they are so cheap from this guy that pre-solders them on ebay. I wanted something to do so I got them. I dont really know how big the hdd is in xbox but I know that if you fill it you play to many games. Ive always wanted to get a samsung drive for it so I can play cd-rws and stuff, kinda stupid that microsoft restricts you from playing them and you have to go buy a $30 remote just to play dvds, well i payed 10 but its the point. oh well, they gotta make money i guess.

oh now i see what you meen with the whole red/green thing. I dont know I just like red, looks better to me. You can get whatever color you want, just for the fun of it. Um I geuss that makes sense with the hard drive thing. can you not go on live if the game is on your hdd or something??? It only uses the game to first start up then load the maps off the disc, then there are maps that you download from xbox live that are on your hdd. do you have to have a mod chip to put games on your hard drive? cause i know if you do that then xbox live can detect it and ban you. ive always wanted to do that but never went into depth with it.

you cant play online with the HDD, PS2 or X-Box

your need a chip on Both, well on PS2 u can use a pressed disc, if u can find em

u wont get banned on either having a mod-chip

they all have the "off" feature so u can go online (somtimes known as stealth)

im not sure how it works now, it used to be aslong as u havent been on live the drive will work forever on it

however if uve been on live u cant change it (Some serial bull************************)

but i havent looked at hte x-box scene much (i dont have an x-tosh)

Also games take up the same space on the HDD as they do the disc

at most 8gb per game (dual layer discs)

nowadays on the PS2 most are 4.5gb and some are up to 8gb

Noo the chip goes into stealth mode so it cant be detected, and the HDD is never noticed as far as live is concerned

If uve been on live B4 ure HDD's serial number and stuff are recorded in a database, if u go on with a new HDD the change is noticed and ure banned from Live

Im not sure if they got round this problem yet ...

The only REAL mess is the paperwork between the B rig screen and the stereo, the stuff stacked on the PC and the case are mainly just DVD's and games in a neat stack.

No-one else got the piss taken for their neatness... :( mind you, I guess everyone else cleaned up first!

SideWinder ForceFeedback2. I got it when it was ~$140USD, but my sister worked at Best Buy, so I got it for 70-something. I don't really use it much anymore though. It was really for Midtown Madness 1&2, but a lot of the other games I play don't support it, or very well. Either keyboard or the Playstation controller work great though.

i have the forcefeedback joystick (1) its pretty cool

shame that force feedback was never integrated into many games, it was a really neat feature

there was a game that came with the forcefeedback joystick, but cant remember what it was now :rolleyes:

i never got the FFB2 cos it didnt coem with any game (Well not the 1's i saw) and i knew how rare the games were

wonder if anyone here ever used the "strategic command" that was cool, 6 buttons programmable for any combo with 3 shift keys

Alright, the National Geographic is one that my mom picked up at the library. It's from 1981. Something about "breaking news" with Saturn, I believe.

The "what's that?" next to the TV is an RF Modulator. It turns the RCA Phono jacks (and now s-video), into cable channel 3 or 4 for TVs that don't support that. So it's for my DVD player and my playstation.

The Gallilean thermometer is safe there--it has a wad of stickytack on the base of it, so it's actually probably the safest thing on the whole desk.

The yellow and black thing for "use both hands to find arse" is a flashlight. It's pretty nifty, actually. it tilts 90&deg; and swivels a full 360 (and can keep going). It also has a clip for if you're nerdy enough to put it on your belt, you can do that, but I usually use it to clip it somewhere as a third hand.

The knife sticking in my extend-a-shelf monitor stand was found at a public park, actually. Someone was catching fish and gutting them right there, I guess, and they left their knife when they packed up and left. It's only like a $12USD knife at Wal-mart, but it was free, and that's always good.

Yeah, I'm kind of embarrassed with my desk, actually. Everyone else showed nice, clean desks, and I can't help but think you spent an hour straightening up to take a picture--me, I just didn't care at all.

Heh I had the whole OSX theme going for a while but after my most recent reload I have been too lazy to set it up again. I the look of OSX better than XP, and I like the brushed metal look as well.

One of the mice is the MX900 that came with the diNovo kit. The other is the MX1000. I do enjoy having a the option of charging one mouse while using the other. The main reason though, is that I love the performance of the MX1000 in games, but I really preffer the way the MX900 feels. I use the MX900 most of the time for all my day-to-day stuff and the MX1000 for gaming.

Yeah having the case even a few inches of the floor really cuts back on the ammount of dust that accumalated inside. I had it on the floor for a while, I noticed the difference pretty quick once I had it elevated.

Hehe I try to keep the desktop somewhat tidy. If you open any of the drawers you will be greeted my all the clutter and disarray. If I am doing something, or just chilling out in the evening/weekend the empty bottles, chip bags, tools, camera, DVDs etc all start to pile up. But I usually push everything into the drawers and shelve the DVDs before the weekend is over.

And no I am not a women, but the women do seem to like a tidy desktop more than stuff piled everywhere.

Those are pretty old pics - I've since put chrome stovegrill style fangrilles on all the fan holes - using oversized bolts that look f*cking awesome, switched to SATA hdd, added smart card reader and temp. guages...

well my new monitor has arrived, and as promised i have pics. i appoligize for the bad quality as my own digital camera is out for repair right now (unfortunate new years eve accident). i have to say this thing is huge, it may not look that big in the picture but it was tough to move it around and the box it was shipped in barely fit in the back of my car (4 door 97 suzuki sidekick). there are no apparent defects in it, not even nicks on the housing which is good for an off lease monitor.

ignore how messy my desk has become. the picture really doesnt do it justice as the screen is incredibly sharp and bright. to see just how much bigger this is than my old 17 inch just look at its height compared to my case, the old monitor was the same height, maybe slightly shorter, while the new dell is about 4 inches taller than my case. the speakers, athena AS-B1's, are 13.75 inches if you want to get some reference of measurement in there.

gaming has been awesome, although my vid card is definatelt starting to get dated when the res gets bumped up so high. im running at 1920 by 1440 if anyone was wondering.

and finally to finish it up, here is my attempt at a shot to better show off the screen's color and focus. as you can see the camera kinda robbed a little of both of those. and yes that is me, it would be in kamloops bc for this recent new years, a little before the incident that damaged my own camera actually.

Mine has 9. When I set up my benchmarking setup out on the back porch, I unplug all the fans except CPU and put a 28-inch box fan (~800cfm on low) up against the side where the panel used to be, and take the other panels off. Did that back in October and the temps were ambient 8C, case 8C, CPU idle/load/OC'd load 34C, and the video card was running 36C idle, 48C load, 51C OC'd load.

My case is a full-tower ATX case. It is 26 inches tall, and I took the 3/4" feet off the bottom of it. 5 5¼ bays, 1 3½ external, 5 internal. And still, it is cluttered and not enough room. My next case is going to be a real server case with 8 5¼ external bays, and maybe one or two 3½'s.

That address isn't going to work for us, buddy. That's your address inside your LAN. We need the address for your modem (external address), and you need the router configured to forward port 21 to your 192.168.1.44 rig.

Might I also add that it isn't very wise to post your IP address out on the public internet, especially when you advertise that port 21 is open. That's like making a million copies of the key for your front door on the house and expecting nothing bad to come of it. ;):p

Mine does/will look worse. Even if I have to ditch this mobo and get a new one, I will have an AGP (I hope all in wonder) and a PCI video card working together so I can support both my monitors and my TV. The all in wonder so I can can do PIP and record a show while watching another (already have a tv wonder ve) That adds a lot of wires. It hurts my head just trying to think of all the wires I'm going to try to minimize the impact of when I finish the build.

Well, here it is...the desk that cost me 5 bucks....I did some modifications...I took the stupid wheels off, and raised the desk top 4 inches...and the little computer box below, i made out of the old box...which was made for those horizontal computer cases...so i just flipped it around, but the locking things didn't line up, so i had to use wood screws...you can see 3 in the desktop...

Well, i made the box wide enough so that if i push the case to the extreme right, airflow shouldn't be an issue...but i like my PC on the desk top...so as soon as i get my A64 rig built...ETA of video card and case is friday or monday :( but once it's built it gets the spot on top...and the celery 2.4 goes in the box :p and when i get money i'm gonna finish my case mod on the mATX celery rig....notice it doesn't have a face....an the front panel switch and LEDs are just hangin out...lol

My generic case had the "front" USBs up on the top, and where I have the case on the desk, there's about ¾" from the top of the case to the desk surface, and that's not enough to plug anything USB in, so I had to take one of my 5¼" bay covers and cut the holes in it to move my USBs to being in the front. Worked out pretty well, actually.

A friend of mine has that case with the top USB's & stuff, it's a coolermaster, right?

I don't know if it's just the layout of the case or if he's got a really big PSU, but the circuit board hanging down inside the case from the top controls really blocks the air intake for his PSU.

Because there are still stupid people who think that 7800GT and 7800GTX are the best cards out there. That or they think that 7900 series are even more expensive.
A lot of the people i talk to don't even know about 7900's... this one idiot i know searched and searched and upgraded to a geforcefx 5950... when i told him that he was a moron and that he could have got a 6800GS for a better price and better performance, he told me i didnt know what i was talking about.
