might be spy ware, do you have adware or spy bot, maybe get a fire wall. or is it a company comp? try hijack this, might figure out whats happening. or ctr-alt-delete and see what process you have going, it could even be a window's service... try that stuff
theres no wierd processes running, ive scanned with adaware, spybot, pestpatrol
havent tried hijack this

Google (http://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial_s&hl=en&q=%22wmi%5Ctrace.log%22&btnG=Google+Search) ;)
After running the MS Bootvis utility, the file C:\WINDOWS\System32\LogFiles\WMI\trace.log becomes hugely inflated.
The file shrinks on reboting but may rapidly grow to a few gig's in size, to cure the problem run BootVis again and click Trace-->Stop Tracing, the file will now stop growing and may be safely deleted.
The MSBootVis utility may be found here:

omfg bootvis
i remember installing that ************************!!! and it made my comp freeze
damn, you're good man

if it is service pack 2, go to the security center, click fire wall options, click advanced and in there is settings for the trace log size and if to allow it at all.
but if that other stuff worked, well this post is done.
thats something else, the filename for that is differnet
and, it came back
I HATE WINDOWS

Don't hate Windows..hate XP. :p 2k works plenty fine for me, and is rock-solid. It might even perform better than XP in benchies simply because it uses far less resources.
