Hey, guys.
I recently built a computer consisting of

Asus K8N-E mobo
AMD sempron 3000+
Corsair 512mb
SATA WD 80gb
etc.

I have noticed two things or rather problems. On-board sound does not work. Is that because I'm using front-panel audios? Also, my internet is a lot slower in some aspect and shaky. My MSN keeps disconnecting and my aim wouldn't even connect. I also have problems loading contents of website. It just blanks out after I type the address. So I have to multi-hit the move button to reload the contents. Has anyone have this problem and know how to fix it? Thanks a bunch!

my onboard networks fine

u can try unplugging all routers/switches/hubs for about 15 secs and plug them in to clear out routing tables and buffers and such

also have u checked ure drivers for the network
and the QoS thing reserves some bandwidth, although it should affect a 100mb network connection with .5/1/2 mb BB

and on the sound, in my experience it disables when u use the front panel audio
so id say thats probably it

Troubleshooting a slow or dodgy internet connection can be pretty difficult because there are so many variables. Bluegreen's suggestion to unplug the modem, router etc, is great. This will clear the bridging tables and force the devices to renegotiatle their connection with the ISP. You may also want to make sure you have the correct NIC drivers installed, and perhaps look for a new driver or re-install the current driver to make sure there are no problem.

Has the internet just been dodgy on the new computer? Do you still have the old computer you could reconnect to test its performance? If one PC works well and the other doesn't it helps narrow down the troubleshooting a lot.

As for the audio, it has been my experience that the rear outputs are disabled when something is connected to the front.
