Hi everyone:) Noob to your board. From what I've been reading there are some smart people involved so here goes: I just got my updated box together and am pretty pleased except that the chipset fan is the loudest in the case. It runs around 6500 rpm. It looks like the HSF is held on with those plastic pop rivets. Has anyone changed out this fan? A couple of computers ago one of these went bad on another ASUS board and I was able to get it off without removing the motherboard. Just wondered if it was possible with this one. I also have a couple of Thermaltake fan rheostats laying around and wondered if this might work with the chipset fan instead of attempting a hack job on the MOBO. Lots of questions, I know. Thanks for reading.

I switched mine out with a Swiftech MCX159-cu. It's pretty heavy and requires motherboard removal, but it's alot quieter and cooler. It is pretty tall, but it won't interfere with SLI.
