hey guys im kinda new to the monitoring of your cpu/mobo and all that, so i was wondering what were some of yalls favorite programs? im looking to download one so i wanted some feedback on some of the ones you guys liked. at idle my
amd sempron 3100+ is running at 33C, and the case temp (does this mean the mobo?) is 27C. i just checked it in the bios, but i wanted something to monitor it
while i was running the desktop. after this im gonna go try and read up on the do's and donts of the whole case/cpu temp thing, but feel free to share the advice. thanks guys

i use ITE smart guardian which came with my motherboard for my cpu temp and volatages, then for my video card i use atitool to monitor the temps and control the fan speed. speedfan and mbm5 are also popular choices.

I also use ITE smart guardian, primarily because it is distributed with DFI motherboards. Works pretty well as long as you keep your temps above 0C.

so do these programs just monitor the temps? or can you load your cpu through these programs to check idle or full load temps.
do i need to get one that somehow matches my mobo? i seen where someone said that ITE smart guardian was only for DFI controllers.

well i generally dont use anything
im not overclocking, so theres no point me keeping tabs on it at all times, i know roughly what temps it runs at, so i dont need to moniter it now
as for GFX, i aint found a program i like, the software that came with my GFX card sucked, and seemed to be causing lagg issues, so i got rid of that, nothing on the gfx card now

i like MBM 5 as well, becuase it logs your High and lowest temps, and gives you the average which is nifty

thats somthing annoying about smart guardian, if it recorded logs it would be nicer
if your gaming, how are you gonna look at the ITE window
asus probe had that feature, however i never managed to get it to stay ON ! :mad
(i.e. after restart, it wouldnt be recording any more)
