So I was watching a show where a guy made a lamp out of computer parts.

I noticed that the motherboard glew incredibly when light was placed behind it, and you could see all the circuitry.

What if we made an array of white LEDs on a sheet that could be slipped inbetween the motherboard and the case.

The motherboard should glow inside the case!

and the motherboard would get really hot

No, i doubt the motherboard will get much hotter, granted its led lights working there, not incadecent lightbulbs. :-)

I guess this mod will work on Intel boards where there are less circuitry on the PCB............
Most of the boards which uses special-dyed PCB like Asus (orange-yellowish PCB), Gigabyte (Blue PCB), MSI (Black PCB) and Abit (Red PCB), the light cant really penetrate the PCB. This is apparent on Abit AN8 Fatal1ty, where the red LED behind the mobo doesn't penetrate the PCB......

And yeah, Server-type motherboard normally came with 6-layer PCB (normal boards have 4-layer PCB) and heck, i dont think any light are going through those thick PCB :p
