View Full Version : Single Card Equivalent to A8N32-SLI-DX
Looked a bit on ASUS' site and I cant figure out which board is pretty much the same thing as this board. I'm also sick so im a bit impaired in judgement :P
An older customer wants one and wasnt sure either. He was just told this was a big board.
What is your question its a mobo. Any vid card will work in it if its pci Express

do a search on newegg for A8N, it will give you all of the different ones from a regular A8N to the high end

Single card equivalent, aka non SLI.
Then it would just be the basic A8N the only thing special about the 32 is in SLI both cards get a x16 lane My dad has been usein one 4 like 3 months now you dont have to use it in SLI works just as well single card and leaves the option for SLI in future. with 2 full x16 lanes im sure asus will have an equivlent board for AM2 as well. As for it being a big board its an ATX its no bigger than my DFI But the closest thing is This (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131530) with out SLI

There is no equivalent. The best boards with all the features only come in SLI flavour, i.e ASUS' board or DFI's Lanparty Expert.
The Ultra boards are close but usually does not have the extra SATA plugs and a few extras.

I assumed they worked like MSI, the Neo4 Plat SLI was the same as the Neo4 Plat non-SLI except the non SLI had a few extra SATA ports.

The Asus A8N-E would be the only thing similar with one PCIe x16 slot. It uses the nForce4 Ultra chipset, but doesn't have quie as many features. If it has all the stuff you are looking for it is a pretty decent board at a nice price.

SLI boards dont seem to be setting people back as much as they used to
so theres no need to avoid them really

But if one was to want only ONE grphic card, and not even consider SLI, which mobo would you use?

DFI SLI-DR expert if i could afford it
otherwise an ASUS board, generally all have SLI anyway
unless your looking for a SFF
Picked the A8N-E. This is an older guy and doesnt need a huge motherboard, and his son convinced him ASUS is some super magical performance brand.
