I just upgraded my motherboard to an Asus-sli and got a Nvidia PCI-e 7600gt. I have gone through the BIOS and its there is an error and lets me pick from the options : safe mode, safe mode command, safe and networking, start with most recent working settings, and start windows normally. please help me
ok you need to be a little more specific. from what did you upgrade from? that's the first thing. we'll go from there. also what do you mean you went through bios? do you mean that the system posts and before the windows desktop you get the error? let's start with what you upgraded from. you may or may not have to reformat and reinstall windows depending on this.

The error you describe is Windows crapping out during the boot process, not uncommon when you change the motherboard. Often using the WindowsXP CD to perform a repair install is enough to sort it out, but a clean format and then reinstall would be the ideal solution. All the system drivers from the old motherboard are conflicting with the system drivers from the new board, especially since the chipsets are different.
