My good friend Chuck and I had a bit of time on our hands this afternoon so we made some wicked mods to an nVidia Vanta we had kicking around the shop.

Presenting... nVIDIA Vanta-32 Wicked-Awsome Edition.

As with many high end cards the AGP bus just can't provide enough juice to satisfy all the power, so we needed to add the AA batteries to increase core stability. As well, 3D power-houses like these generate a lot of heat, so we attached a custom cooler. As you can see the retention mechanism is pretty complicated, this is of course essential in ensureing good contact between the GPU core and the heatsink.

Here is a shot comparing the nVIDIA Vanta Wicked-Awsome Edition 32MB to a normal Vanta-16...

You can see the PCB is a little different to make room for the extra memory. As well, you can see the utter awsomeness of the mods we had to do. The Wicked-Awsome Edition simply blows the stock Vanta away in terms of style, and I am sure the performance will only distance it further.

Hmm trade for an X1900XTX, I'll have to think about that. We put a lot of time into the mods and, come on, this card is just truely awsome.

You should glue some more ram chips onto it.
32mb is just not enough for that powerhouse of a core!

put active HSF on it, and see if it will OC better with all that extra battery power...

i think my bad ass 9100 would truly be a fair deal

lol...

BTW, The caps on that card are too expensive for ECS... ECS would have used some wrigleys gum wrappers with toothpaste between the layers to form a capacitor...

hey, im pretty much running that card right now in my rig as i wait for my rma. mines slightly better, but its still too crappy to even run many videos or even windows at a high res for my monitor. im running on the nvidia riva TNT2 model 64. mines sweet enought to have come with a factory passive heatsink. and its also the only heatsink ive even seen that is brown.

I like the eBay idea.

Also, throw a couple LED's on it for a little added "bling factor".
