Hey all, my friend wants to know if there is any way to make the BIOS on his compaq computer a different version so if he tried to put a dell disc of XP in it would accept it. He has this dell disc and doesnt want to buy another one...or does he need to get a new mobo??

Probably not, as most big box computers have proprietary OEM discs that WILL NOT allow that disc to be loaded up on another computer. I don't think an upgrade to the latest BIOS would help either. He should just build another computer ... :)
