Yeah, I didn't know it had profiles. I was looking around on FF on my Linux rig trying to find any way to even change 'em, and I can't find it. Maybe it's a Win32 feature. *shrug*

I was just poking around Firefox on my Windows machine and didn't seem to see any refference to profiles. Is this an extension you've installed or something?
No I know it has profiles cause thats how I always save my bookmarks before I format. The path to the profiles folder should be something like this:
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator(or current windows user)\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\
I only have one folder in there, 8ob8c6e0.default. That's where all my profile data is. If you go in there you will see a bookmarks html file. Figure out which profile is the one you want to keep by looking at the bookmarks and delete the new one you don't need. This should work but I'm not sure so you might wanna back up the profiles folder just in case.

I save my settings and such on Linux, too. 'Cept all I have to do is bring up the terminal and type 'cp -r .mozilla mozilla' With Linux, files/directories that start with a period/dot " . ", are designated as hidden files/directories. So you copy the hidden folder to a name that is visible, then transfer it to the Windows rig, and after the format, just transfer it back and do 'rm -r .mozilla' to get rid of the default one, and then 'cp -r mozilla .mozilla' and it's all done. Bookmarks, settings, everything is all saved/restored.
