security issues

hey guys

i'm a lil bit a noob at security stuffs :confused:

thing is im staying in campus
and have this fear of my pc being entered without invitation :curse:

is there any softwares better at protecting my windows than the networking password entry (my friends are really good at cyphers...and i have no idea how it works)

and can i tweak the bios to have some security features as well :dev:

Pick up ZoneAlarm, McAfee firewall, Norton Internet Security, etc. Software firewall should do the trick.
