Stanby on Win XP Pro with Pentium D

Does anyone know if it is true that a Pentium D (dual processor) will prevent Windows from going into Stanby mode?

not sure about pentium D but i have dual cpu and my system have no problems with stanby
and mac laptops use those new intel chips to and as far as i know they also have no problems with stanby
so if there is an issue it's likely to be a xp issue which if it's
there will be solved by a fix pretty fast

if there's any known issue with something like that, it would likely be due to the bios on the motherboard, or another devices inability to go into standby....or a reinstall is in order
