Hi. My sister deleted some important documents thinking she had it backed up in a zip disk, but turned out the zip disk somehow lost the documents along with a few others... anyway

I did system restore and I've found all the folders. Then reliefed as I was, I went into the folders and nothing was there! All the .docs were gone. The only things remained were the hiJackThis folder with all its files within (though it could be because hijackthis doesnt have any .doc files to be deleted anyway). Is there anyway to fix this?

You could probably recover the files using some sort of file recovery software. I know EasyRecover Pro has a 'Delete Recover' feature that works pretty well on files deleted within a few days. The software is rather expensive though, so I guess it depends on what the data is worth to you.

Sys restore doesn't save the state of all your data - can you imagine how much disk space this would take up!

As Westy says, tt's recovery software, free or commercial, and luck that will get you your data back :-|

I have used "data recovery wizard" in the past, and got decent results.

Hi,

There are plenty of data recovery programs available.

you can use Kernel Recovery Software from Nucleus Data Recovery.

they have software for various file systems. You would need to use Kernel Recovery for Windows (FAT and NTFS):
