I have Nero Ultra 7 and I'm wondering how I make a CD with floppy emulation and also the files that need to go with it. I'm not sure if it needs to be bootable or not because I'm planning on using it during the Windows XP installation to install the SATA drivers.

Thanks everyone

*bump*

Wow, I can't believe nobody knows. Anyways, I tried a method I found on a Google search and I guess I don't need a boot disc. Anyone know how to make a CD act as a floppy without being a boot disc? Can be for any burning program. If it's not Nero, I'll just have to get it.

the only thing i can sudgest would be VMWare, because you want a floppy to be there that isnt from a file. when bootup it wouldnt detect anything because the software you do manage to find would be loaded.

VMWare can assist because it has its own console for rebooting its own part which means it can do the floppy for you or ISO.

you can download bootable floppy images on bootdisk.com. you need a bootable disk image to make the cd, or a bootable disk to take the image from, which is problematic if you have no floppy drive. if you want to customize the disk though, you're screwed if you download an image, you just get whats there

this is why when i build a new system, i always throw in the extra 12$ for a floppy drive, every case has a slot for it, and for an extra 1% cost, its handy to have cuz you never know when you could use it
