There is nothing wrong with collecting boxes. I am a Graphic Designer, so my job is to design boxes, So I keep ones that will inspire me.

And I agree, the apple boxes are my favorites. Especially the software boxes.

I keep some of my boxes, but purely for storage purposes. After paying a ton of money for my Silverstone TJ05, one would think that the box would look neat. I don't think there even was a picture of it. It was just the model number and the silverstone logo.

That is a pretty neat box btw.

I don't throw anything away. The box my case came in is holding 18 boxes for smaller components.

i keep pretty much every box i get, until i get rid of that certin item, i dont kno why its just something i do, the box for my DFI motherboard has come in handy quite a bit, i keep all the drivers disks and my xp cd along with some essential cds for when i format my computer

When I worked for Tigerdirect, we would have people buy $2,000 TVs and through the box away that night. More times then not there was a problem with the TV (or pick another device) and we wouldn't let them return it because we can't do anything with it without the box.

P.S. no we couldn't do box swaps because serials wont match up.

You dont refund/exhange the goods but you can RMA/service the product, right?
That's how thing are done here.......... 1 to 1 exchange if product are returned within a week, with full box/manual and stuff.......

actually we give you 30 days with box and manuals and stuff... and yes the person could still RMA it through the manufacture.

Edit: I've seen all kinds of crazy people there. I've have a customer come over the counter at me when I was covering a register once. Because I wouldn't give him is money back for his HDD. Which btw had no box, manuals or static bag, he just brought in the HDD.

Sorry, didn't mean to hijack the thread. :-)

Its a good idea to save boxes and things , you never know when you might want to sell them or need them for returns. When you have a quality box like the coolermaster one its worth showing. However, it makes you wonder how much of your money is going on marketing rather than the actual product!
