I installed Fedora Core 5 on my fiancee's laptop. now i'm trying to get the wireless to work. I installed Madwifi via the YUM installer. and everything went as planned until i got to the "system-config-network" part where I got this message.

"Driver for device ath0 has been compiled with version 20 of wireless extension, while this program suports up to version 19. Some things may be broken..."

I can see the networks in range of me but it wont seem to connect to them. just my wired network.

I don't seem to have problems with the Atheros thing. I remember reading about how there was a conflict with the drivers not being allowed to be bundled into the OS. I can't remember if it was FC4 or 5 that I had installed, but my Atheros card worked just fine at school with their wireless. *shrug*

When I go and look, it shows that the driver used for my wlan card is "atheros", but it doesn't show up in the list for 'lspci' as described on openSuSE.org (http://en.opensuse.org/Atheros_ndiswrapper) Of course, the SuSE instructions/procedure probably doesn't mesh up exactly with Fedora, but I've been surprised before.
