View Full Version : NFS:MW and Dual Core
I just tried to play most wanted and when its affinity its set to both cores the whole game gets insanely fast. All the cars and specially my car are way too fast. I can't even control my car, even if I'm only going 20mph. I set its affinity to only one core and it runs fine. Anyone know how to make it run on both cores without flipping out like that?
EDIT - Its happening with Far Cry too

if it runs ok with 1 core why not just be happy with that?
Cause I just paid for a dual core CPU goddamnit!!!
EDIT - And I will never be happy with ALT-TABing out if my game to set a game's affinity to one core so I can play, thats just ridiculous.

Atfirst I thought you were just not man enough for all that power under the hood.:D Then when reading on I realized that you needed that patch. It's a really good game, you'll love it, that is if you don't throw your mouse through the wall out of fusteration.
I've been playing it for a while. I got up to Razor a long time ago but I never raced him cause I still need like 1.5 million bounty. BTW I play with a PS Dual Shock pad connected thru USB. You can't play NFS with a mouse dude...
Thnx for the link atticus.

i have a program which will let you set affinity pernement for applications
so you dont have to set it each time you launch the applications
personaly i never had any issues with games because of dual cpu
and i never forced affinity really
I downloaded SMP Seesaw which you recommended in another thread but it doesn't seem like it permanently sets affinity...

btw i too used to use my ps2 controller with the usb port, but im a very clean person and id have to disconnect and put it away every time but now i use the logitech rumble pad 2 and i leave the reciever plugged in the back hidden from view, so i just pick up the controller and play. id never go back to wired controllers, guess im too spoiled.:p , just thought id tell you

hell yeah that thing rocks my socks, and has made me much lazier :yeah?:
i use it for madden, nfs, and all my roms, its great
I'll stay with my wired controller. If you click on the link to my site, you'll see in the pics that the controller hangs on the wall along with my headphones and headset (which connect to 2 separate sound cards btw). I know neat man ;)

once you go wireless you never go back
and by the way pcgeek wheres those updated shots on your website, i know youve updated to a 19"lcd, x1800xt and and x2 atleast since you took those shots.
Yeah, but I'm lazy as hell. I have a real digi cam around here. Its a bit older and its takes AA's but the pics come out a hell of a lot better than my palm's camera. I'll take some new shots...
