Can someone send me 3DMark05 or 3DMark06? A great and quick way would be through www.yousendit.com since you can sent up to 1Gb for free.

I went to download it but the main site sends you to all these other websites that have horribly slow download speeds... If you send it via this way, I will get it 20 times faster... Thanks.

I never had any problems with the mirrors they give you. When my cable was 4mbit, I was pulling the max. Of course it was in the middle of the night when the source servers weren't being used all that much. I got 3dm06 from a german site within hours of '06 being released, and I should've gotten about 680k/sec, but got 495-525, which isn't too bad. Just had to check and make sure the hashes came out right.

MajorGeeks is a good source for '06: http://www.majorgeeks.com/3DMark06_d4935.html

And for '05, '03, '01, and aquamark 3, Avid6eek has this thread for the benchmarks.. http://forum.pcstats.com/showthread.php?t=31896

Unfortunately... it appears to be much slower... I am getting 100 Kbps at most... not the 10 Mbps that I get else where... very dispointing and I don't want to wait... :{ Or tie up my bandwidth... I have other things on my list to download...

If you have it and would like to send it to me, I can share an e-mail address via private messages... If not, thanks anyway.

Me sending it to you would take even longer at 44k/sec. :p

I just did the majorgeeks server in GA, and it started out at 78k/sec but within 5 seconds was up to 760k/sec. *shrug* works good enough for me.

i can only upload at 14kbps.

if you need a copy of it then why don't you just bittorrent it or get it off xdcc? of course that would be illegal... but then again so would someone on these forums sending you a copy of it. (i think).

It's perfectly legal to distribute the free/trial version of any software as long as you don't make a profit off of the distribution.

Basically if you can DL it off of any legitimate website (like the company's site, or a mirror that hosts lots of other files) without having to pay any money, it's legal to send/share that exact file unmodified to as many people as you want.

Tahnks everyone... I got the program... :)

Tests didn't do as well as I would have hoped them to do... I need to do some investigation and testing to see what I can change to boost performance.

If you give us some more info such as part for the rig and setting we should be able to give you some advise on what you can do. ;)

If you think you can help that would be awesome... But I have a feeling the best thing I could do is replacement of most of my system. Either way, here is my specs.

Asus K8V-SE Deluxe (soket 754)
AMD A64 3700+ Warhammer (2.4 GHz)
2x1Gb Corsair XMS3200CTPT (PC 3200)
300Gb (forgot brand) SATA HD
Ultra 450 X-Connect PSU
BFG 6600 GT OC (AGP)
Dell 1705 (17" Ultrasharp with DVI hookup)

I know I shouldn't expect too much from what I have, being socket 754 and 6600 agp graphics card... but I was looking for something fairly decent and better the 0 to 1 fps on most of the tests... very disappointing. I also have my display at 1280x1080 (or whatever that is) and Digital connection...

Well, pick away... Either way, thanks for yout time and thoughts. :thumb:

I have dreamed a little of getting a new system... Looked at the 4800+ for $305 (or even the 4400+ for $228) and Asus A8N32 SLI for $145... not sure about the graphics yet but this would be good for little money for a big increase in my system overall. I could still use my memory and likely PSU but that would be close and I would have to do the math to make sure it would be enough...

The biggest problem I have with upgrading at the moment is the fact that I am completely broke trying to put the lady of the house threw school. :( I need ot hit the lottery... :woot: but I would have to play to win... what a vicous cycle.

Anyone want to give me some cash or send me some parts... ? ;)

3Dmark06 is almost 100% all GPU (video card). I have a 6600GT and I get 1400 marks. The 7800 and 7900 nVidias do pretty well. The two tests that get 0 and 1 fps are actually CPU-bound though. Avid6eek with his quad-core setup got 1-2 fps, so don't expect much of a gain with single-core anything.

About the biggest thing that will let you get a handful more points is overclocking the GPU. Pick up coolbits (http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=201) and then you can start the OCing. DublinGunner currently has the highest '06 score with a 6600GT at 1905. The standings for 3dmark is here: http://forum.pcstats.com/showthread.php?t=31896

See I said one of us would soon sort you out, basicly I have nothing left to say NotMyBest2Day covered it all I think.

Oh except giving you the link to the guide on how to OC graphics cards.
