My laptop is only about a month old and explorer.exe is sucking up all the cpu time at times. Usually it uses about 15,000k according to task manager but at times it jumps anywhere between 200,000k and 400,000k. This results in my laptop getting to hot to set on my lap after awhile. Any idea why this may be? I only use two networks to connect to the internet. One is my house which is encrypted and the other is at college which is not encrypted. Could I have got some virus or spyware while surfing at college? OS is Windows XP Home and it is a Compaq v3000 laptop.
