I want to be able to email just like I can with what came with my Mac notebook but with another web browser other than the Safari, what a huge let down, I can't believe that I paid HUGE $$$$ for this 17 inch Mac Notebook and that it came with that Safari for the web browser, never again...
Or will Safari change for the better if I was to buy another type of Mac software that would make Safari more complete with all the buttons, bells & whistles, like hoping it will pick up more that it can do with it, like get the web surfing folders on the same page, and a few other nice options I wish it had. I say that perhaps by adding another software package because when you first buy and try Windows the email does not have spell check until you buy and load Office or Word or what ever else....
I did load a free Netscape web browser that works pretty good and looks to be what I want, but I don't want to use their proprietary email address, so I can't do a "mail this link" because it opens their proprietary email, so I have to open Safari to send a link so to keep things correct using the email thats proprietary to my ISP.
I don't think I can change SMTP and POP settings in the Free version of Netscape, thats like trying to change the email settings in Yahoo now, or can I do that???
What can I do? I can't find some good free web browser to use that will let me keep the email that came with the mac notebook, the Safari is horrible, perhaps someone can recommend where to go, or even what to load from Apple that can juice up the Safari?
If you have a new Mac please tell me what you have fine tuned it into? I'd like to try the freeware by Mac, but if there is something I should buy thats not a problem as long as its worth it to round off this notebook I've become disappointed with this Mac notebook with the Safari compared to what comes with Windows.
Now I don't want to bash Mac too soon being I'm still new to it, but this is truth so far, perhaps there is free software waiting at the Apple web site I don't know about that would make things better.
Please let me know what freeware or paid software all you Mac users have gotten, even from Apple.
plus what is being used by all to type letters and light office type work, I don't need anything heavy duty for that.
thanks for the help, Joe
