"Microsoft said today it has changed the retail license terms for Vista so that customers now may uninstall the OS from one machine and install it on another as many times as they want. The new terms do away with limitations on the number of new devices to which the license can be transferred." -PCworld
And it was because we complained! Lets all keep complaining and maybe we will end up with a decent OS! :)

also they dont seem to push their own closed audio std but follow a audio std called open!

But apparently the change in policy will not affect consumers who purchase their Windows license preinstalled on a PC from a hardware manufacturer. No license transfers are allowed in those cases.

consider in most cases those who buy from pre fabricated manufactures don't even know how to install windows. so dido.

yeah and those mostly buy a complete new one when the old doesn't keep up anymore...
